"Mimi's Teacup"
This particular cup and saucer belonged to my grandmother. I never cared much for pink flowers but since her passing, they've grown on me. The time spent drinking in someone's story is priceless. Every cup tells a story. And this blog is just a taste of mine...
a cup of Kat.
"Field Girl Painting"
by Sally Fryer
I was immediately attracted to this piece of art because of the design inspired by Indian fabric. The textured shades of the complimentary colors drew my eye as well as the lady with the red locks. In a way it symbolizes the expat journey, full of the beautiful yet challenging unknowns ahead where a ripe field is ready for harvest.
"Paradise"
This picture represents Guatemala every time I think about that beautiful country. This family lives in the slum called "Paradise" where tin and scraps of whatever they can find serve as walls and a roof. A child next door played with a toy made out of a recycled gatorade bottle with rocks inside. I took this back in 2006 on my first overseas experience. God truly opened my eyes to poverty and the wellspring of life found in Christ.
